Colored Lily Appliqué - 6 hours Learn to color the flower fabric pieces before appliquéing. In this workshop, only the center block will be worked on. Some experience with appliqué is required Colored Lily Appliqué - 12 hours The longer workshop will include coloring and stitching the center block, and then will progress on to stitching the borders. |

Mariner's Compass - 6 hours Students will learn to draft this traditional block in the desired size. Then students will use paper foundation piecing to construct the compass. |

Design Your Own Appliqué Flower Block - 12 hours Students will work from their own photographs to design an appliqué pattern to stitch. Susan will share some techniques she uses to make this process easier for those a bit shy about drawing. |
The following is a list of some of the 3 hour workshops available. If you would like more information about these, please email me. Machine Trapunto - learn how to get a beautiful trapunto effect without slashing fabric. This class does not require skill with free motion quilting. Seminole Patchwork - learn to make one strip of the Desert Flower pattern for seminole patchwork Foundation Paper Piecing - learn or improve on your paper foundation piecing skills by making an 8" pineapple block. Carolina Lily Block - Use quick cutting techniques to cut the pieces for this challenging block. Then learn how to piece the block. Folded Patchwork - use folded patchwork tecniques to make a flower block. Crazy Quilt Blocks - use paper foundation piecing to make your own crazy quilt blocks. Students will also be shown how to design your own crazy block. Cathedral Window - in this class students will learn how to make both the traditional cathedral window, and a mock cathedral window that has seam allowances and can be used for borders and sashing in quilts. Curved Piecing by Machine - learn how to machine piece curves without pins. |
